MEET AUDISEA FOUNDER AND, CEO OF NAILED BY AUDISEA.
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
Can you share with us where you were born and raised, and where your business was founded?
I was born in Bullhead, AZ, raised in Las Vegas, NV, and my business was founded in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was a young mom looking for a path that gave me freedom - freedom to create my own schedule, be present for my son, and build a life on my own terms. I knew I wanted more than just a job; I wanted a career that allowed me to be my own boss, earn a good living, and most importantly, pour into other women. That desire to empower women, to help them feel confident, seen, and celebrated has been the heartbeat of everything I do. My business started as a way to support my family, but it quickly became a passion-driven purpose.
Can you tell us about your journey from the idea stage to launching your business?
The idea for my business came from knowing deep down that I wanted to service women in the beauty industry. I’ve always believed that beauty is more than just appearance—it’s about confidence, self-expression, and connection. And on a practical level, I recognized that no matter what the economy looks like, the beauty industry continues to thrive. That combination of purpose and stability drew me in.
My journey really took shape when I enrolled in beauty school and decided to pursue nails professionally. At the time, I was working full-time as a waitress, and I used what I could to slowly invest in my craft—buying products, tools, and equipment piece by piece. I set up a small in-home salon at my mother’s house and started taking clients there.
Eventually, I took the leap and left waitressing to focus fully on nails. In the beginning, I worked at two different salons within six months, all while building my own clientele on the side. I leaned into social media(mainly Twitter and Instagram) to market myself and grow my presence.
As I gained more traction, I partnered with my friend Marlie, and we took a big step by getting our own suite. I won’t lie, I was nervous. I worried about whether I could manage the expenses of running my own business—but I leaned on my faith in God and trust in myself. That mindset, paired with consistency and a real love for what I do, helped me grow a steady and loyal clientele, and ultimately brought my vision to life.
Can you share a particularly memorable or rewarding moment you've experienced in your entrepreneurial journey?
One of my most rewarding moments recently was securing a few clients who live on Fisher Island. I’ll never forget my first visit there—it was one of those full-circle moments where I felt like everything I had worked so hard for was starting to align. It wasn’t just about the location or the status—it was about realizing that I was now operating fully on my own time, charging what I know I’m worth, and attracting the kind of clients who value my craft.
I’ve also had the honor of working with a few celebrities, which has definitely been exciting. But to be honest, I see every client who respects me, values my time, and pays with ease as a celebrity. The real reward for me comes from pouring into the women who sit in my chair regularly—the ones who come not just for nails, but for the full experience, the conversation, and the energy exchange. That ongoing connection and impact is what keeps me going.
How do you balance your personal and professional life as a business owner?
Finding that balance hasn’t always been easy. It’s something I’ve definitely struggled with, especially in the beginning. When you’re building a business, it’s easy to feel like you have to be available 24/7. But over time, I’ve learned that I can’t pour into others if I’m not pouring into myself first.
I’ve gotten a lot better at saying no when I need to, and being intentional about scheduling time for me. That means prioritizing things that make me feel good and help me recharge—especially my health. Staying active and working out regularly has become a major part of my routine, not just physically but mentally.
I’ve also learned the importance of protecting my time, especially on weekends. Sundays in particular are reserved for family, friends, or solo time—and I treat that as non-negotiable. Creating those boundaries has helped me show up better, both personally and professionally.
How do you stay motivated and inspired when facing setbacks or challenges?
Whenever I face setbacks, I ground myself by remembering why I started and the long-term vision I have for myself. I’ve invested years into building my craft, my brand, and my client relationships—so giving up has never been an option. That deep commitment to my journey keeps me pushing forward, even when things get tough.
I also take a lot of pride in everything I do, so I’m always striving to put my best foot forward. That means staying up-to-date with the latest trends, techniques, and styles so I can continue to elevate my work and offer the best to my clients.
And honestly, I stay inspired by other creatives in the nail industry. Seeing fellow nail artists push boundaries, express themselves, and create incredible work constantly motivates me to keep evolving and growing.!
What challenges did you face as a female entrepreneur, and how did you overcome them?
While I wouldn’t say all of my challenges were specifically tied to being a female entrepreneur, one of the biggest hurdles I had to overcome was learning to confidently charge my worth and enforce healthy boundaries with clients.
In the beginning, I struggled with guilt around pricing—especially in an industry where personal relationships and client satisfaction are so closely tied. It was hard to raise my rates, set strict policies, or say no without feeling like I might lose clients or damage relationships. But I quickly realized that in order to truly grow and sustain my business, I had to respect my time, energy, and expertise.
I overcame this by getting clear on my value, standing firm in my policies, and learning that the right clients will always respect and appreciate professionalism. Creating structure in my business actually helped me maintain better relationships with clients and created a healthier, more empowering work environment—for both me and the women I serve.
What advice would you give to other women who aspire to start their own businesses?
My biggest advice is simple: just start. Don’t wait until everything is perfect or all the pieces are in place—perfectionism can be paralyzing. Start with what you have, stay open to learning along the way, and trust that growth will come with time and consistency.
Keep your faith strong—whether that’s in God, the universe, or whatever aligns with your belief system—and most importantly, believe in yourself. Confidence in your vision is everything.
And above all, make sure there’s real purpose behind what you’re doing. Passion is important, but purpose is what carries you through the tough moments. If there’s no deeper meaning driving your business, it’s easy to fall off when things get hard. But when you’re rooted in something real, you’ll always find a way to keep going.
The Socially for HER blog is all about empowering women and recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of women. So is there another female entrepreneur that you want to give a shoutout to?
I want to give a big shoutout to my good friend Raquel(@raq_beauty)—an incredibly talented aesthetician who specializes in lash extensions, brow lamination, waxing, and tinting. Her passion, dedication, and attention to detail are unmatched. She’s been such an inspiration to me, not only as a fellow entrepreneur but as someone who constantly pours love and excellence into everything she does. Watching her grow her business and elevate her craft has been amazing, and I’m so proud to have her in my circle.
